Date of the request: 2018-10-31 First contact.
Date for the visit:2019-06-11
Length of the visit: 1.5 Hours
Visit starts: 16:30
Visit ends: 18:00
Number of visitors: 12 (originally limited to max. 20, with opportunity to receive more)
Details on the participants. More important than a precise answer for all the individual participants is the overall level and background of the group.
Education level: The group is a mix of established researchers, postdocs, and PhD students, and their background in structural biology is also very different, ranging from international experts to generally interested molecular biologists.
Visitor background: (informally, it may be useful to know that the group includes the current director of the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology, Cambridge, UK, and a science editor from Nature Communications).
Motivation, interest, expectations from the visitors:
Many participants are structural biologists or are interested in structural biology.
Other Comments:
"I am co-organiser of an EMBO workshop on bacterial cell division that will take place at Örenäs slott 9-12th of June 2019. We have in total 125 participants. Many of them are interested in structural biology and also various types of advanced imaging. Among the speakers are some structural biologists like Jan Löwe from MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology in Cambridge.
We are looking into the possibilities to offer a visit to MaxIV for those who wish. The main option would be late afternoon June 11 (with somewhat limited time since we have to bus people from Örenäs). An alternative would be to offer the visit after the conference ends after lunch on the 12th of June."

MAX IV interest:
MT: "As your workshop both addresses structural biology as well as other imaging techniques there is certainly overlap in our interests."
MAX IV staff involved: Ana Labrador, Jie Nan
