DESCRIPTION
Is it difficult to keep up with all the tasks that all seem to have the same deadline? Is your working day fragmented due to different types of tasks, all of which seem to be equally important? Do you have several people who are struggling and need support? An inbox that seems to dictate your everyday life and eats up your time? We have strategies for how you can deal with all that and avoid (negative) stress.
TARGET GROUP
Finish on Time has held workshops for T/A staff and academic staff at Lund University for several years. The evaluations are unanimously positive - the workshop works for different functions, with different tasks in different places within Lund University.
PURPOSE
The workshop give you new strategies and hands-on tools that are applicable to your work own situation.
GOAL
As individuals, we often have a main strategy, or a certain way of thinking and acting, that we use to deal with a variety of situations. Often our main strategy works well but when we face new situations we may need a greater variety of strategies. The goal of this workshop is that you get alternative ways of thinking and acting that you can apply to your work situation immediately.
CONTENT
We cover productivity tools such as the 80/20 principle, end product focus and working in ”units”, along with a method for setting and evaluating work goals. We combine this with stress management and answer questions such as; What is stress and what factors contribute to stress in the university environment? What are automatic thoughts, for example about perfection, and how do they affect me? How can I handle situations that I cannot control and how can I handle the situations that I can actually control? What do I do to recover?
PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE
No special prior knowledge is required.
IMPLEMENTATION
Theory is mixed with practical exercises in small groups during this workshop.
