This introductory webinar and exchange dialogue is hosted by the TR+ (Time-resolved) group at MAX IV. The goal of the webinar is to work towards high-impact experiments and techniques pushing the limits of a 4th generation light source, and more broadly discuss how the TR+ can best support time-resolved experiments at MAX IV in the life sciences and beyond.
The event will take place online on 29 April between 10:00-12:00.
About the TR+
The TR+ is a cross-beamline group dedicated to improving accessibility to sub-second diffraction, scattering, and spectroscopy experiments at MAXIV as individual techniques, or in combination to fully exploit the complementarity in information content, as well as accessible lengthscales and timescales. The TR+ focusses on reducing barriers to entry for new and existing users and pushing the technical capabilities of time-resolved techniques. We also work to increase communication with users of the time-resolved science enabled by MAX IV. The TR+ includes scientists from 4 beamlines. Balder (XAS and footprinting), MicroMAX (SSX and MX), FemtoMAX (femtosecond imaging), and CoSAXS (SAXS/WAXS).
Programme:
1. Beamline introductions: 5 min each
MicroMAX, CoSAXS, FemtoMAX, Balder
2. Directed small-group discussions: 40 min
On the following topics:
° The design of novel or cutting-edge experiments or techniques maximizing the existing capabilities of the MAX IV beamlines.
° Identify existing TR techniques not yet supported by MAX IV
° Discuss existing challenges and solutions to currently supported TR methods at MAX IV.
3. Open Discussions (~30 min)
Presentation from the directed groups (15 min)
Combined group Q&A (15 min)
4. Final comments (~5 min)
