Description
Workshop on there topics:
- tools for sci. collaboration: miGRID, jupyter notebook sharing and HPC
- running sci. algorithms on FPGAs
- sci. algorithms with bohrium
The initial working groups:
- FPGA: Kenneth, Carl, Artur, Juliano
- Bohrium: Mads, Brian, Zdenek, Viktor
- Migrid & Notebooks: Rasmus, Klaus, Rajmund, Vincent, Jason, Antoine
Conclusions
Brian set up a shared folder to put all about the collaboration:

Everybody (from the working groups) at MAX IV should get an ERDA account
Bohrium
Zdenek prepared a simple algorithm, Mads took this and made it working in Bohrium.
It works with CPU back-end and OpenCL
speed up factor on CPU = 2.5x and 6x on a slow graphic card
Viktor also supply some algorithms for interpolation
next steps:
- Zdenek is preparing the real data to be used for benchmarking. Mads will provide the benchmarking scripts
- Viktor will continue working on his application
Jupyter notebook / MiGrid
Two sub projects:
• how to run and share jupyter
• how to link to the batch submission
Share link was created to access data
Solution for user identification has to be worked out, probably through OpenID
Vincent brought up that it would be great to have a version control
One scenario for this could be that once the script (jupiter notebook) is ready tone launched as batch, it will become a version
Jason was interested in IDMC at MAX IV
next steps:
- Martin Rehr will support Jason in setting this up
- Rasmus will provide a data access wrapper (import to notebook to get the link to data)
FPGAs
Carl is working on the SME implementation of index sum problem
next steps:
- helping MAX IV with the installation
- Carl finished an implementation using SME
- Zdenek provides data
