Teacher workshop at MAX IV Laboratory

MAX IV Laboratory in Lund, Sweden's national laboratory for synchrotron radiation research, invites to participate in some exciting days of scientific research.

At the laboratory exists about twenty experimental stations which are used by more than 900 users every year to examine chemical, physical and biomedical properties of materials and samples. At the moment, MAX IV Laboratory is developing fast and construction of the new facility outside of Lund is expected to be completed in June 2016.

MAX IV Laboratory - a source of inspiration
During these days we will provide you as a teacher an insight into what is happening in the laboratory and a chance to discuss with colleagues and researchers how we can develop our collaboration with schools further. In addition, you will get a chance to do experiments in smaller groups and familiarize yourself with the current research being conducted in the lab. Teachers in physics and chemistry from Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Finland are invited to participate in teacher workshop 2015. Due to the International Year of Light (2015) we will highlight everything that is related to light. Parts of the program will be held in English.

Course fee 1150 SEK, coffee and lunch are included.

Application
The application period is open between January 19 and February 26. The course has a limited number of places, 25 pcs.

Teacher workshop 2015 is organized in collaboration with Nationellt Resurscentrum för Fysik (NRCF) at Lund university and MAX IV Laboratory.

Studiedagar om forskning vid MAX IV-laboratoriet

MAX IV-laboratoriet i Lund, Sveriges nationella laboratorium för synkrotronljusforskning, bjuder in till några spännande dagar om naturvetenskaplig forskning.

Vid laboratoriet finns ett tjugotal experimentstationer till vilka fler än 900 forskare från hela världen årligen kommer för att undersöka kemiska, fysikaliska och biomedicinska egenskaper hos material och prover. MAX IV-laboratoriet utvecklas i dagsläget snabbt och uppbyggnaden av den nya anliggningen utanför Lund beräknas vara klar i juni 2016.

MAX IV-laboratoriet är en inspirationskälla
Under de här dagarna ger vi dig som lärare en inblick i vad som sker på laboratoriet och chans att tillsammans med kollegor och forskare diskutera på vilket sätt vi tillsammans kan utveckla samarbete med skolor vidare. Dessutom får du en chans att experimentera i mindre grupper och bekanta dig med dagens forskning som bedrivs i labbet.

Fysik- och kemilärare från både Sverige, Danmark, Norge och Finland blir inbjudna att delta i lärardagarna 2015. Pga. Ljusets år 2015 kommer vi att lyfta fram allt som är relaterad till ljus.

Delar av programmet kommer att vara på engelska.

Kursavgift 1150 kr, fika och lunch ingår.

Ansökningsperioden är öppen mellan 19 januari och 26 februari.
Kursen har begränsat antal platser, 25 st.

Arrangörer
Lärardagarna arrangeras i samarbete mellan Nationellt Resurscentrum för Fysik vid Lunds universitet och MAX IV-laboratoriet.
