Abstract
CMCF is an umbrella facility within the Biological and Life Sciences Department of the Canadian Light Source, which operates two beamlines, CMCF-ID (08ID-1) and CMCF-BM (08B1-1). Together, both beamlines enable high-resolution structural studies of proteins, nucleic acids and other macromolecules, satisfying the requirements of diverse crystallographic experiments. The main techniques available at the CMCF are high resolution macromolecular X-ray crystallography, Multi/Single wavelength Anomalous Dispersion (MAD/SAD), small molecule crystallography, Powder Diffraction and EXAFS on crystals. The CMCF-ID beamline has been in operation for 10 years, and the CMCF-BM beamline for 5 years.
In this presentation, the design, hardware, software and operation of the facility will be described, as well as ongoing upgrade plans.
