Travel

Sweden currency is the Swedish krona. Credit cards  are widely accepted as payment, and you will most likely not need any cash.

Travel to Lund

The closest international airport to Lund is Copenhagen Airport (Kastrup) in Denmark. It takes about 35 minutes from the airport to Lund Central Station (Lund C) by train. Train tickets must be purchased before travel:

  • At the Danish DSB ticket machines or DSB ticket office in the arrivals hall at Copenhagen Airport.

  • Through the Skånetrafiken app (check your appstore). This is the best option, since you can use the same app for travel within Lund. If you use the app, remember to activate the ticket  before boarding the train!

Note: There may be passport controls when entering Sweden. Make sure to always bring a valid passport when travelling between Denmark and Sweden.

The closest airport in Sweden is Malmö Airport. From Malmö Airport, there are coaches  called “Flygbussarna“ to Malmö Central Station, where you can then take a train to Lund C.

Travel within Lund

Public transportation

While traveling in Lund (the green city buses and tram) you can use contactless payment to pay for a ticket. You can also purchase tickets with the Skånetrafiken app or the ticket machines at Lund C.

The tram from Lund C to MAX IV (Lund MAX IV) runs every 10 or 20 minutes and takes about 11 minutes.

Parking at MAX IV

There are three ways to pay for the parking at MAX IV:

  • At the reception you can buy a day ticket for 30 SEK.
  • Pay in the machine placed at the parking
  • Pay with the Parkster app on your mobile phone.
