Welcome to the MAX IV Day of Science, a one-day celebration of x-ray science here at MAX IV.
The aim of this day is to showcase the incredible range of science taking place here at MAX IV, inspire new ideas, and spark new cross-beamline collaborations.
We would love for every postdoc to give a short talk to present their beamline/research from their perspective.
In addition, we are looking for posters from across the lab, created by either resident postdocs or PhD student to highlight capabilities and research. These will be displayed during an afternoon-evening poster session.
Guidelines for Talks
- No longer than 10 minutes
- The level should be no higher than first year bachelors and should be accessible to anyone with a science background - across multiple disciplines
- The first part of the talk should center on your chosen beamline, providing an overview of the types of experiments conducted there, typical operating conditions, and other relevant details
- Second section should be focused on applied science at your beamline. You may choose either some of your own work or an interesting paper from the last 12 months and present it.
- Most importantly, this is for scientific interest and to get people inspired to try new techniques and design new experiments, so should be kept light and fun!
Guidelines for Posters
- Poster sessions are often the best part of conferences for meeting people and discussing our amazing science
- With this in mind, the posters should depict what the author considers amazing science performed at MAX IV
- Keep the level accessible
- Include as many pictures as possible
- Really showcase everything your chosen area of x-ray science has to offer!
