Abstract: Time-resolved experiments require the addition of substrates and ligands at millisecond timescales to be consistent with reaction timescales. In parallel, uniform incubations are required to resolve different states and overall dynamics. In my talk I will explore microfluidic phenomena which pose challenges and opportunities for achieving precision time control. I will discuss different microfluidic approaches using examples from the field and my Biomedical Microfluidics lab, with applications spanning time-resolved serial crystallography, hydrogen/deuterium exchange mass spectrometry (HDX-MS) and the investigation of protein dynamics within cell membranes.
