Description

PDM/CAD-tools used at Max IV Design Office and how they work

PDM, Product Data Management, is the key-player in the software family for us at Design Office. PDM is a SQL-database handling the files ownership, revisions, what state and is the tool for keeping track of all files, but mainly the cad-files.

CAD, Computer Aided Design, is the tool for creating 3D-models and drawings. The created parts are put together in an assembly-fil to show the function, layout, requested space, orientation and where in the machine or beamline the model has it functions and is situated.

A presentation of our tools will explain how we use them and what they can do for us in our line of work.

Mechanical design and development

Some inspiration in the form of projects we have done in the past and projects we are involved in currently. A description on our procedure from initial contact to delivered product.

FEA

In our toolbox we have several software’s for simulation. This part will present what we can do with them to help out with tracing photons, calculating flux and power, thermal expansion, deflections and last but not least and certainly not forgotten, stability.
