The International Conference on X-ray Microscopy brings together experts to discuss novel imaging and microscopy techniques, using synchrotrons and X-ray laser facilities, and to promote their applications in tackling different scientific questions.

Both technical and scientific topics are discussed during the meeting, and each day features plenary speakers and parallel sessions with speakers loosely grouped according to thematic areas, such as detectors; coherent imaging methods; and novel optics, alongside scientific results in intra-cell imaging; magnetic materials; and battery research, to name but a few.

The XRM conference series started in Göttingen, Germany, in 1983 and is traditionally held every second year at sites near the most advanced light source facilities around the world. The last XRM meeting took place online, hosted by NSRRC in Taiwan, 2022. The last physical meeting, pre-pandemic, was held in Saskatoon, Canada, in 2018.
